Full Version: More Sources Need

I searched the forum for this, but my question wasn't really answered. So here it is.

Why is it that over 90% of the time when I try to download a file, it immediately says "more sources needed". I can understand that sometimes the computer I download from goes offline, but it happens way too frequently to be explained by users logging off. I have an older version of K-lite (KazaaLite++ 2.4.3) and I am connected to the internet through a wireless router.

As per a KaNat FAQ, I disabled the "filter files I cannot download due to firewalls" function and did a search. I got plenty of results without red X's so I don't it's the fact that I use a router, which removes the need for KaNat.

Is anyone else having this problem? Or can anyone explain the rediculously large amounts of search results found by Kazaa that require more sources immediately?

Thanks
misbonnie

huh.gif ok, I just joined this forum for this exact reason. I too am having problems getting the downloads to run. I am running a cable modem, with a linksys router attached. I keep getting the more sources needed too, and the same thing, the download will start then stops and says more sources. Would someone please explain how to set this up with the cable modem and linksys router to be able to download again!!!????!!!!! unsure.gif

unsure.gif ok, its me again,.........well now, I don't really consider myself to be stupid, but,.......... I am still unclear as to how to get this to work for me. Let me start by saying I was using K-lite v.2.6 and I was having no problems with my dlds until I went and hooked up the cable modem with the linksys router. I am sorry if you have answered this question numerous times, but I have tried to uninstall and reinstall different version, even went back to the old 2.4.3 version and it wouldn't even connect for me???? .......... I am going to put the 2.6 back on, so if you could please guide me thru this process,.... ok,..... step by step, because I am sure I am not the only with this problem. I happen to think the K-lite is the best P2P program out there, and have used it for years without a hitch, but now that I have added the cable modem instead of the dsl and the router into the picture, that is where my problems began. If erRor67 would elaborate on the configuring of the modem and router and jumping supernodes, I sure would appreciate it!!!! wink.gif

Did you even LOOK at the link?

blink.gif yes, I did. And I also dld'd and installed several different versions like I said, and about gave up until I finally managed to get the Kazaalitek++v2.4.3 installed and it finally connected, but I still think it is still not running up to par. As soon as I tried to install the beta versions, I had all kinds of problems. Currently I am running 98se on this system. I tried several times to install the 2.7 and followed the directions I thought to a "T", but still had no luck and had to uninstall. so........... if you were as to be so kind to explain to me what is going wrong, I sure would appreciate it. I mean what do I need to do, disconnect the damn router to install it? I just don't get it???? motz.gif
