Ok, here's my suggestion. There was and is a FANTASTIC singer Super Star from former Soviet Union days who now lives in Moscow named Muslim Magomaev. Now if you want to hear singing that should blow your socks off, find, download and listen to a copy of 'O Surdato Nnamurato sung by Muslim Magomaev. If it sounds like a baritone copy of Mario Lanza's version of this classic, that's probably no accident as he was a Lanza fan and reportedly ran a couple TV broadcasts in Russia about Lanza. Muslin was a star from the 1960s into the 1990s. He was as versatile as England's Russell Watson is today, able and willing to use a wild range of tonality shifts that make ordinary vocalists seem like they're constrained by straight jackets by comparison. You may find works by him in full operatic style where he was a Super Star, through Russian pop and folk works. He could do it all, playfully, powerfully and with wonderful competence. His ability to bloom and sustain from low volume levels to high was a mavel of virtuosity. Hell of a man. One video showing some of his immitations of other singers shows another aspect of his versatility. So is Muslin Magomaev widely known in the US? Not only no, but hell no. Then who's likely to post collections with his works? Russians, that's who. Finding songs by him should be a nice pre filter for finding likely Russian SuperNode candidates, or those used by Russians. I've found about 20 works by Muslin posted, but I failed to run a Russian SuperNode search while looking for his vocals. Hope this helps someone and lets a few more people know about this Russian treasure the Soviets didn't try to share with the west.
