I've been jumping through hoop after flaming hoop trying to correct all of the K-Lite issues. I've upgraded to the latest version. I've downloaded the supernode patch so I could even connect in the first place. I still have the problem that IF i find more than zero users online, it still won't download anything i've searched for and sellected for download. I don't mind chasing my tail for awhile to find patch files that fix a given issue, but some of these fixes seem to require a programming degree to understand.

Is there a bonafide FINAL installer that will just install K-Lite's latest version with all of the known debugging allready done?

All solutions are written by users just like yourself. Please try to explain the issues/ problems you are having both with the program and tips/ solutions.

My current issue is that K-lite almost always reports there are zero users online, and I can rarely find anything I search for regaurdless of its popularity. Even when i do find something I've searched for, I haven't seen a successfull download yet. I've allready used the patch that fixed my connection problem, and now I've now run the event ID patch which is a bit scary having to click through all of the warning windows begging me not to run that patch. I actually downloaded K-Lite because I have a young cousin whom I'd like to give the program to, but if it comes with a host of extra patch files and warning windows I don't think her parents will even let her install it. What I'd really like to find is a version of K-Lite that simply works right after installing it. I could email a file like that without having to explain a handfull of extra patches that still haven't helped my K-Lite to work the way i remember it working several years ago when I first used Kazaa and Kazaa-lite. The biggest problem back then was just pop up windows, but at least it worked.

The "number of users online" is determined by the supernode you are connected too; File > Jump Supernode will fix this issue.

The other "patches" are unrelated to this.

actually, when you have a "0" users on line - that's not zero users. It's 0.0M users (which means less than a 100,000 users)... and sadly that's all I see anymore. sad.gif Lite is right about trying to jump nodes to do better - but I do it to try for more files (the files-shared part of the display). -if that is 0.0M also, I don't even try a search. What I look for is at least 0.2M or 0.3M files. And there can be a vast difference in nodes! One might be 0.0M and the next 0.5M - and the first probably won't get you any search results, will the next will be a whole page!
