was wondering if there are any silent install switches for k-lite 2.7 beta3 to integrate k-lite in my unattended nlited xp-cd. it would be great to have it silently auto-installed with pre-configured options (switches) like the shared folder, bandwith settings, supernode or not, tools, etcetera to be ready to run when my xp starts for the first time after the fresh install
same question for both installs (nsane 2)
cheers

that's actually how my installer launches the official k-lite installer to use the settings you picked in mine. get that? laugh.gif wink.gif

here's a good command line to use...

CODE
klite27beta3nsane.exe /SILENT /NORESTART /DIR="C:\Program Files\K-Lite" /GROUP="K-Lite"

/SILENT makes the proccess automated

/NORESTART prevents it from rebooting your computer if needed, would really mess up your windows installation, and you can do it afterwards any ways. plus it shouldn't need to if your using XP

/GROUP refers to the icons in the start menu group

/DIR is obvious

you could also use /COMPONENTS and /TASKS to pick different settings. examples...

CODE
/COMPONENTS="main,runtimes,ipupdater,kazupernodes,avipreview,kanat,kdat,ksig,mp3shield,hostsman,sig2dat,magnet,hosts,xplook"

that would be a full installation, as far as components (or 'Tools') go....

CODE
/TASKS="desktopicon,shareddesktopicon,quicklaunchicon,userpermissions"

this would be a full installation for an icon on the desktop, quicklaunch icon, and sets permissions for other users to use K-Lite wink.gif

here's a full list of /TASKS and /COMPONENTS settings...

Components
main - Khancer
runtimes - Runtimes
avipreview - AVI Preview
ipupdater - Banned IP Range Updater
kazupernodes - KaZuperNodes
kanat - KaNaT
kdat - K-Dat
ksig - K-Sig
mp3shield - MP3 Shield
hostsman - HOSTS Manager
xplook - Enable XP Look
delkeys - Delete All K-Lite Registry Keys Before Installing
sig2dat - Send Sig2Dat Links To K-Lite
magnet - Send Magnet Links To K-Lite
hosts - Install Ad Block
hostsremoveinstall - Clear Ad Block Before Installing
hostsremoveuninstall - Clear Ad Block When Uninstalling

Tasks
desktopicon - Create a Desktop Icon For ''K-Lite''
shareddesktopicon - Create a Desktop Icon For ''My Shared Folder''
quicklaunchicon - Create a Quick Launch Icon For ''K-Lite''
userpermissions - Set Access Rights for Limited Users

and use my installer, as it includes kazaa.exe so EVERYTHING is done when you launch it smile.gif

btw, i think this should be moved to the tips section unsure.gif

program settings are saved in the registry, you can output a .reg file and have windows add it if you want wink.gif

CODE
regedit.exe /S C:\blah\fix.reg

you'll have to use DOS filenames for the reg file location (ex. C:\Progra~1\K-Lite\reg.reg) as the regedit parameters don't allow quotes. atleast it didn't in win98, not sure about xp unsure.gif

how do i prevent the installer from spawning:
- the config wizard
- an url to my browser (while there isn't one present yet smile.gif )
- ip updater
after the silent installation finishes?
i know i can kill these processes with pskill, but that would be just a workaround instead of a clean solution smile.gif

cheers

CODE
REG ADD %KEY%\014 /VE /D "k-lite 2.7 rc1" /f
REG ADD %KEY%\014 /V 1 /D "%PP%klite27rc1nsane.exe /SILENT /NORESTART /GROUP=\"K-Lite\" /COMPONENTS=\"main,runtimes,ipupdater,kazupernodes,avipreview,kanat,kdat,ksig,mp3shield,hostsman,sig2dat,magnet,xplook\" /TASKS=\"desktopicon,shareddesktopicon,quicklaunchicon,userpermissions\"" /f

what's wrong with this? no components getting installed, only bad ip updater and tasks line are working.
pls check and point me in the right direction.
thx

you can't stop the ip updater from opening, that was purposely made manditory since no list is included at install (saves space and it's better to have the latest list) :\

as for the components, they were changed to give the installer a tree view wink.gif

Components:
ma\khancer - Khancer
to\aviprev - AVI Preview+ 0.26a
to\ipupdr - BannedIPsUpdater 2.0.4
to\kanat - KaNAT 0.3.8
to\kzn - KaZuperNodes 1.5.0
to\kdat - K-Dat 1.2.5
to\kdat\set - Apply Reccomended Settings
to\ksig - K-Sig 1.2.2 Build 5
to\ksig\sig2dat - Associate Sig2Dat Links With K-Lite
to\mp3shield - MP3Shield 2.4.2
op\delkeys - Delete All K-Lite Registry Keys Before Installing
op\xplook - Enable XP Look
op\magass - Associate Magnet Links With K-Lite
ho\inst - Install Ad Block
ho\inst\uninst - Clear When Uninstalling
ho\reminst - Clear Ad Block Before Installing

Tasks:
desktopicon - Create a Desktop Icon for ''K-Lite''
shareddesktopicon - Create a Desktop Icon for ''My Shared Folder''
quicklaunchicon - Create a Quick Launch Icon for ''K-Lite''
userpermissions - Set Access Rights for Limited Users

i dunno how to disable options on the finished screen (the goto website option). i'll run a few tests and see what i can do, if i find anything worth while i'll let ya know wink.gif

edit: forgot the tasks tongue.gif

i thought the silent install switches were supposed to prevent such launch-eager things from executing biggrin.gif
lite, ftfakes... c'mon which one of you made the original msiexec. we won't bite, just let us know the 1 (or 3) additional switches wink.gif
verysilent maybe?
